Mello help and support

You can play Mello without an account. Optional accounts are available on the website, iPhone and iPad app, and Android app, while game progress stays on each browser or device.

How to play

Choose one of the three pieces, then place it on the 8×8 board. Fill a complete row or column to clear it. Clearing multiple lines at once and clearing lines on consecutive moves builds a combo. Use every piece in the tray to draw three more. Endless continues while a legal move remains. Daily gives everyone the same fixed 30-piece challenge.

Install the Mello web app

On iPhone or iPad, open mellopuzzle.com in Safari, tap Share, then choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the site in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. On a supported desktop browser, use the install icon in the address bar. Open the installed app online once so the latest version of Mello is available offline.

Progress is not saving

Leave private browsing, allow site storage, and make sure the device has free space. Mello saves locally after each move. Clearing browser data or uninstalling the app can remove that local progress.

Offline or stuck loading

Reconnect once and reload so the latest version of Mello can be saved. If an installed copy still looks outdated, close it fully, reopen it online, and reload once more.

Sound, motion, and appearance

Open Settings to choose light, dark, or device appearance; reduce motion; and adjust sound or haptics where the device supports them.

Delete game data or an account

On the website, clear storage for mellopuzzle.com in the browser. On iPhone, iPad, or Android, uninstalling Mello removes its current local app data. Deleting an account from Settings or the account page removes the Firebase account, but does not erase local game data. A mobile account that needs provider confirmation opens that secure web page to finish deletion. These actions cannot be undone.

Common questions

Is Mello free?

Yes. Daily and Endless play are free. Website ads never change the pieces, scoring, or results, and Mello has no paid power or locked themes.

Can I play offline?

Yes. After Mello has loaded successfully once, Endless and Daily work offline. Reconnect periodically to receive game updates.

Does progress sync?

No. Signing in does not sync scores, saves, streaks, or settings. Each browser or device keeps its own progress unless you remove its local data.

How do I verify or recover an account?

Open Account to resend verification or request a password-reset email. Check the inbox and spam folder for the email address used to sign up. Firebase currently opens the secure action in a browser; after verifying, return to Mello and refresh the account status. Account actions require an internet connection.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in, then choose Delete account in Settings or on the account page. Firebase may require you to sign in again before deletion. Clear local game data separately if you also want to remove progress from the device. If Mello cannot confirm that Sign in with Apple was revoked, finish the separate authorization cleanup at account.apple.com under Sign-In & Security, Sign in with Apple, Mello, Stop Using Sign in with Apple.

How does the Daily stay fair?

Everyone receives the same deterministic 30-piece sequence for each UTC date. Your first completed run is official; replays are practice.
