Terms of use
Mello terms of use
These terms explain the basic rules for using the Mello website, installed web app, iPhone and iPad app, Android app, and optional account features.
Effective July 19, 2026
Playing Mello
Mello is a casual puzzle you can play without an account. Endless and Daily progress, scores, streaks, settings, and ad-frequency counters are stored on the browser or device you use. An optional account identifies you but does not currently back up or sync that gameplay data.
Optional accounts
You must be at least 13 to create a Mello account. If you are under 13, use guest play and do not submit account information. You are responsible for keeping access to your email address and sign-in method secure and for activity performed through your account. Provide accurate information and let Mello know through the support page if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
Mello uses Firebase Authentication. Email-and-password sign-in is available; the website may also display Google, Apple, Microsoft, or GitHub sign-in when that provider has been enabled for Mello. Connecting another sign-in method from the account page attaches it to the same Firebase account. Mello does not automatically merge separate accounts. Your use of an identity provider is also subject to that provider's own terms and policies.
Fair and acceptable use
Please use Mello for personal, lawful play. Do not attempt to break into accounts, interfere with the service, distribute malware, overwhelm the site, bypass security or advertising controls, impersonate another person, or use Mello in a way that harms other players or service providers.
Mello content
The Mello name, original artwork, text, and software remain the property of their respective owner or licensors. These terms let you use the game and account features; they do not transfer ownership of Mello branding or content.
Daily puzzles and results
Mello aims to give players the same seeded Daily puzzle, but device time, browser storage, software updates, offline use, or a service interruption can affect availability or saved results. Shared result text is generated on your device. Do not rely on a score, streak, or saved game as a permanent record.
Advertising and outside services
Some public website pages may show Google AdSense. Ads do not affect puzzle pieces, scoring, difficulty, or outcomes. Identity providers, Firebase, Cloudflare, app stores, and websites opened from Mello operate under their own terms and privacy practices. See the Mello privacy policy for details about data handling and advertising.
Changes, availability, and accounts
Mello may change, pause, or discontinue features to maintain security, improve the game, or respond to technical and legal requirements. Access may be limited when an account is used unlawfully, threatens the service, or repeatedly violates these terms. You can stop using Mello at any time and can delete an optional account from Settings or the account page.
No guarantees
Mello is provided as available. Reasonable care is taken to keep it safe and playable, but uninterrupted access, error-free operation, permanent storage, or compatibility with every device cannot be guaranteed. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited where you live.
Updates to these terms
These terms may be updated as Mello changes. The effective date at the top will be revised when an update is published. Continuing to use Mello after an update means the new terms apply going forward; if you do not agree, stop using Mello and delete any optional account.
Questions
